History, facts and figures
Here was a product waiting to be invented. Thirty years ago, when Dr Fritz Stoebe lost his job as general manager at the age of 54, there were no consultancy services on the market to guide people in their search for new career openings. Dr Stoebe recognised both the urgency of the situation and the opportunity this presented. In 1979, he founded Germany’s first outplacement consultancy firm. To date, more than 8,500 specialists and managers have benefited from his idea.
After Uwe Kern joined as a partner in 1987, the original firm changed its name to Dr. Stoebe, Kern und Partner Unternehmensberatung GmbH. Dr Stoebe oversaw the initial growth phase before retiring in 1993 and relinquishing his position as a consultant and partner. In 2001, the company was transformed into a corporation and embarked on a long-term expansion phase to incorporate services specifically tailored to the needs of decision-makers, human resources managers and staff members.
Two core competencies from the pioneering days remain mainstays of the company:
- Recognising, developing and successfully applying strengths and potentials
- Creating the will, ability and skills to change
Our mission is to help people and companies make the right decisions today and tomorrow. For a secure future.
With around 80 staff, SKP AG earned c. EUR 10 million in professional fees in 2005.
